The report you evidence Strixin is all well and good but we have been led a merry dance so far with the NBN.
I've also seen pit crew working cleaning, roping and rodding in Waikiki, but only in one street. NBN contractors were pulling cable on Read st (opposite Hungry Jacks) just before Christmas.
The original plan had fibre work to begin in feb of this year, but since Malcolm's 'faster, sooner, cheaper' MTM mess has taken over, well..there's been no new work and no word on when to expect work. Like I said, the exchange was ADSL enabled back in 2000 but their copper/distance meant they couldn't get anything.
14 years later, no change, stuck on wireless, literally nothing to look forward to in the immediate future.
I know from my experience the most I ever get in downloads it 4.8mbps and up about 0.68mbps, and even to possibly get 80 down and 25 up would be a major improvement. That blue cable in the bottom of the pit if I don't miss my guess is a fibre optic cable.
Same here, would be nice to get a speed above about 300kbps and actually be able to view You Tube again. Peaked in the Telstra Pit while a technician was working, noticed some roping with a tag that mentioned NBN and 8/1/16. Just getting a bit ansy with not seeing much going on as yet.
